What we actually do differently
In the house, not a kennel
Their mother stays with them, and they are raised in a warm room in our home before moving into the busiest part of it. Household noise, visitors, the vacuum cleaner. All of it, early.
Handled every single day
Gentle handling from the first week, then play, new surfaces, new sounds, and the beginnings of house training. Confident dogs are made in these weeks, not later.
Eight weeks at the earliest
Nothing leaves before eight weeks. Those last two weeks with the mother and the littermates are where bite inhibition and dog manners come from, and no buyer request changes that.
We answer for the life of the dog
You can write to us in year one or year nine. We would rather hear from you than not, and if you ever cannot keep the dog, the dog comes back here.

Reading we hand every family
Most of what goes wrong in a puppy's first year is decided in the weeks before anyone collects one. So we keep a small library: the vaccination timetable, what socialisation actually means week by week, how to read a litter when you are choosing, and an honest account of what a Golden Retriever costs to keep.

We were told she would settle quickly and she did, on the second night, in a crate, without a sound. Two years on she is exactly the dog we were described on the phone. That is the part that impressed me most, honestly. Nothing was oversold.
We had never owned a dog before and we asked a lot of stupid questions. Every single one got a proper answer, usually the same day, and twice we were talked out of something we wanted. A breeder who tells you no is worth ten who tell you yes.
This is our second, six years apart. The reason we came back is that when our first developed a limp at fourteen months, we got a phone call back within an hour and honest help, at a point where there was nothing in it for them.
