Pippin is the loudest of his litter and the most certain that everything happening in the world is happening for him personally. Somebody arrives at the door, and as far as Pippin is concerned they have come to see Pippin.
Underneath it he has his father’s recovery. He startled badly at a dropped saucepan in week eight, and he was back over investigating the saucepan about six seconds later. That is exactly what you want to see, and it is a much better sign than a puppy who never startles at all.
His colour is already deepening around the ears, so he is likely to be a genuinely dark dog by his first birthday.
